As if every Indian mom didn't already want her daughter to marry a doctor, Dr. Sanjay Gupta has sealed the deal. Not only is he a CNN and Time Magazine correspondent, a professor at Emory University, and head of neurosurgery at an Atlanta hospital, but he attended University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, assuring that he's hit up more than a few Indian Student Association parties and probably danced with his hands up in the air and definitely owns striped button downs.
The promise of scoring a man like the good doctor, with a thick head of hair to rival Shahrukh Khan's to match, has all the girls hitting up the Biology majors while studying in the science library with high hopes and copies of Time magazine tucked under their arm. Maybe no one sent the memo that Sanjay actually did what every Indian girl secretly fears - married a white girl. Time to look harder at the library.

It is fine that he married white woman! It is only sad that many men from India especially think it is marrying "up" when compared to even marrying one's own ethnicity, or another ethnicity. It is also upsetting when they do not at minimum pursue or find their own. I know personally of white families that prohibit the marrying of "brown", even taking sons of out of will for doing so! Us from India, have some type of white superiority complex, & do not hesitate at not looking for our own ethnicity.
I hope his white looking daughters find India husbands themselves. The tan skin protects your offspring from sun damage, wrinkling, skin cancer (experience skin cancer 10x greater). See melanin + skin damage in Google! Melanin in hair & eyes is also the reason per:hair India women have much thicker hair! Walk into any temple, see India women - at 60, they look beautiful still (thanks to melanin! While white skin which does not have it (+ women have thinner skin than men) the women look completely aged by 40 &by 50 like senior citizens. Plastic surgery is a lost cause!!
Regarding Gupta & his non Indian wife, I wish them happiness. But, definitely, put sunscreen on their kids NOW! 20 YRS of accumulated sun damage & they will struggle greatly! I am 34, &told I pass for 23!!! 35 yr old white women, do not have this luxury unless they have worn sunscreen their whole life.

PS it does leave a pang in a true Hindu woman's heart! Especially when they know that in every white woman's heart, or majority, there is sense that they are somehow more beautiful than Hindu women (especially when Bollywood paints it's actresses white! See Bollywood baby pics in Google! Many of these stars are really a beautiful tan!
They are typically also more aggressive than Hindu women (sexually, racially). Sexually: you would never catch a race Hindu college girls, in Girls Gone Wild videos & India's culture is not bedding new fellow every weekend! &drinking from age 15 (70% of high schooler have several times)!
Racially: if they see an India woman with a white man (a friend of mine, only friend) they are quick to give condescending looks, even say racial slurs (chicken head, Spic).. Back to sexually aggressive, In India, it will never become a cultural norm to show breasts cleavage in front of one's family, or wear shorts that are so high they mimic underwear. only for non Hindu women, anything & everything is acceptable as a whole culture! With no thought process whatsoever on terms such as modesty, decency? It is because you cannot make choori dhars "slutty" nor Saris "that slutty". All American fashion was meant to be snipped shorter &shorter til you are left with nothing but a towel outfit or underwear/bra outfit, or bra &towel underneath outfit for public wear.
But every culture is their own, to each their own. Us Hindu women can only do our best to teach our daughters &sons what is right/wrong. We have seemed to do a good job of it since those in India r 2 grades higher!! As a teacher here, I see 8th grade girls already having sex, wearing mini skirts & spreading their legs in classroom, high school girls showing most of their breasts since cleavage has become new popular fashion! These things have never, &will never be acceptable in India! 1/4 women has Herpes here! (cdc. gov). What do you expect? 1/6 teenagers are pregnant!

Can't believe the ignorance and racist comments left by my own kind. I am a malyalee(people from Kerala) living in Los Angeles originally from Singapore ,very happily married to an African American man. Stop hating on Dr Gupta and his beautiful wife. So ashamed that people can be so heartless and write such hurtful remarks about a woman you don't know. Maybe that's why you women are still single.
